Allen self-pay kiosk goes live; tax bills mailed today

Statement as issued Thursday by Allen County treasurer:

The Allen County Treasurer’s office announced that the new self-pay kiosk is now available for public use. “As far as we know, we are the very first Treasurer office in our country to offer this kind of tax payment option.” reported Susan Orth, Treasurer for Allen County.

“Many tasks people perform each day, they do self-serve. They like the convenience, the speed and the control and now we offer that same convenience to property tax payers.” says Orth.

The new self-serve kiosk is bi-lingual, will accept cash payments and make change, accept checks, credit cards or a combination of those payment types. The kiosk is located just outside the Treasurer’s office in Rousseau Centre and is available during the hours when the building is open. Building hours are 7:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday – Friday.

“To use the kiosk, one simply scans their tax bill or searches and selects their property, enters payment, takes their change and receipt and that’s all there is to it.” Orth explained.

Property tax bills have been mailed today. Due dates this year are May 12th and November 10th. Payment methods available including mail, pay plans, in office payment, kiosk, some local banks and online. Please see the back of the tax bill or our website www.allencountytreasurer.us for details.
