Southbound Lima Road lanes to shift Friday

Statement as issued Thursday by INDOT:

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces that the southbound lanes of US 27/Lima Road between SR 930/Coliseum Boulevard and Dalgren Avenue will be restricted. To accommodate this restriction; traffic will be shifted to the west side of the road and reduced to one lane in each direction. The shift is scheduled to occur during the day of Friday, April 11, weather permitting.

The new traffic controls will include striping and switching the signal heads, in addition to traffic barricades, cones and barrels.

The southbound lane restriction is expected to last until mid- to late June, weather permitting, as crews work resurfacing the southbound lanes. After work this phase of construction is completed, the traffic will be configuration will be reversed as crews work on northbound lanes. During this time work will also be occurring on signal heads, traffic markings, curb, gutter, and storm sewer.

This work is part of the US 27/Lima Road asphalt resurface project, which was awarded to E&B Paving for the low bid of $1.5 million. All work is anticipated to be completed by fall 2014
