Once again the TinCaps couldn’t win for losing Tuesday night.
Down three runs early to Kane County in Geneva, Ill., they rallied to tie it with a three-run fifth and then held the Cougars scoreless for six more innings before three errors in the 12th inning opened the door for a 4-3 Kane County victory.
Carlos Penalver opened the home 12th by reaching safely on a fielding error by third baseman Dustin Peterson, and then a throwing error by catcher Ryan Miller on Jacob Hannemann’s sacrifice bunt attempt left Penalver on third and Hannemann on first.
Nick Mutz intentionally walked Danny Lockhart to load the bases, and then another throwing error, this time by shortstop Franchy Cordero, allowed Penalver to score the winning run for Kane County (3-2).
It was the third straight loss for the TinCaps (1-4), who moved infielder Rey Bruguera to Lake Elsinore in Advanced-A on Tuesday while picking up outfielder Ronnie Richardson from extended spring training.
