Impostor attacks house arrest figure

Somebody using the ruse of being a home detention officer shot a man at a home in the 3800 block of Bowser Avenue on Friday night.

Officers were called to the home a little before 10 p.m. where they found 34-year-old Marcus McGee suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest, hand and hip, according to Fort Wayne police reports.

McGee, who is on house arrest, said someone knocked on the home’s door claiming to be from “home detention.”

When he opened the door, a man with the gun was waiting for him on the other side, McGee said in police reports.

That man was described as between 5-foot-11 and 6-foot-2, black with a slim build and a smaller, Afro-style haircut, the police reports said.

The gunman wore all black.

An update on McGee’s condition was unavailable.
