Park off Broadway sees fight, stabbing

A fight involving four men near McCulloch Park on Sunday night left one of the combatants in serious condition with a stab wound.

Officers were called to the area of Swinney Avenue and Broadway just before 9 p.m. where they found a man who had been stabbed along with a friend of his, according to Fort Wayne police reports.

The men told police they were walking along Broadway when a blue Impala drove by and those inside hollered at the pair.

The car then came back, according to the men.

A fight between one man in the Impala and the man who was eventually stabbed ensued, according to police reports.

Meanwhile, the victim’s friend tried to keep another man inside the Impala so that the others could fight man to man, he told officers.

Eventually, the victim yelled that he had been stabbed and the two men in the Impala sped away, according to the reports.

The victim was taken to a hospital.

An update on his condition was unavailable.
