Vince Belnome, seen here homering in a September 2009 playoff game against South Bend, has been promoted to the Tampa Bay Rays, the TinCaps announced today.

Former Fort Wayne TinCaps players Dean Anna and Vince Belnome reached the major leagues this week, becoming the 12th and 13th members of the 2009 Midwest League champions to do so, the club announced today.

Anna, an infielder, was traded by San Diego to the New York Yankees during the off-season. The TinCaps said he started at shortstop for the Yankees in Toronto on Friday in place of Derek Jeter, and started Saturday at second base.

Belnome, who was traded to Tampa Bay after the 2012 season, was called up to the Rays on Thursday, the local club said. It said 120 former Wizards and TinCaps have reached the major leagues.
