St. Paul captures basketball title

St. Paul Lutheran School’s seventh- and eighth-grade basketball team defeated Garden Homes (Milwaukee) 56-44 to win the Lutheran National Basketball Championship at Valparaiso on March 29.

The Bears (36-0) defeated schools from Michigan, Ohio, Missouri, Nevada and Wisconsin in the tournament.

Colton Grahovac won the Jack Fordyce Individual Sportsmanship Award, based on input of referees, and Keion Brooks Jr. and Jadon Hill were named to the All Tournament Team.
