Christopher J. Sewell, 26, faces preliminary charges of felony battery and criminal gang activity.

Fort Wayne police and the FBI arrested two people Friday afternoon in connection with a recent shooting and beating at a bar.

Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Gang and Violent Crimes Unit and the FBI's Safe Streets Task Force surrounded a home in the 5100 block of Lillie Street, where they found and arrested Adonis Robinson and Christopher J. Sewell without incident.

Robinson, 24, faces preliminary charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, criminal recklessness and criminal gang activity. He was held without bond Friday night at Allen County Lockup.

Sewell, 26, faces preliminary charges of felony battery and criminal gang activity. He was being held on a bond of $12,500 Friday night.

According to police, the two are connected to the shooting and beating of a man early Sunday at Peanuts bar on St. Joe Road.

The victim and witnesses told police he and friends were outside the front of the bar when about 15 people walked up and said if anybody "wants it, come inside."

Witnesses and friends of the victim said that once inside the bar, they tried to prevent a fight from starting, but one of the people with the large group pulled a handgun and said he was going to kill the victim.

The gunman then fired several shots at the victim, causing injuries to his hand, foot and hip area, according to police.

The victim told police he fell after he was shot and was then kicked in the throat and face and hit with a beer bottle by one of the people in the large group.

Witnesses told police someone yelled out "PAC," the name of a local gang.

Officers then went to a home in the same block of Lillie Street where the arrests occurred Friday because they believed the shooting suspect might be there.

Police surrounded the house and ordered everyone outside, but they did not find the person they were looking for or a weapon; they did find two people with warrants for their arrests.

Robinson was sentenced to seven years in prison in August 2008 for robbery and carrying a handgun without a license, according to the Indiana Department of Correction.

Sewell was sentenced to two years in prison in August 2009 for forgery, according to the Department of Correction.
