Robbery-stabbing story falls apart

A Warsaw woman told police she arrived home Thursday night and found two men in her home who robbed and stabbed her in the stomach, but police later determined the woman caused the injuries to herself and made up the story.

Around 8:30 p.m., police and medics responded to the 400 block of South High Street and found the 54-year-old woman lying in the entry of her apartment, according to the Warsaw Police Department.

The woman told police she went into the kitchen when she got home and found two men with ski masks on in her apartment.

She said the robbers demanded her wallet and car keys.

She told police she gave them her wallet and was stabbed as she looked for her car keys.

Investigators announced Friday afternoon they determined the woman’s story was not true.
