High winds head this way

FORT WAYNE – The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a wind advisory for northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.

The advisory is in effect from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Winds of 25 mph to 35 mph are forecast for the day, with gusts up to 45 mph. Isolated gusts of 50 p.m. are possible in the afternoon and early evening, the weather service said.

The advisory was posted for the following counties:

  • Indiana – Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, Whitley, LaPorte, St. Joseph, Elkhart, Starke, Pulaski, Marshall, Fulton, White, Cass, Miami, Grant, Blackford and Jay.
  • Ohio – Williams, Fulton, Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Allen.
