Bluffton police chief announces retirement

Statement as issued Friday:

Police Chief Tammy Schaffer has announced her retirement from the Bluffton, Indiana Police Department effective June 2, 2014.

Shaffer is a 25-year veteran of the Department and was appointed Chief of Police by Mayor Ted Ellis in 2003. “Tammy has been an outstanding leader,” stated Mayor Ellis. “Her efforts have been recognized all over Indiana. We will miss her.”

Deputy Chief Nathan Huss will become Chief and Detective Kyle Randall will assume the position of Deputy Chief.
