12-year-old accuses man of molesting

A Monroeville man faces child molesting and child solicitation charges after a girl accused him of touching her and requesting nude photos.

According to formal charges filed Wednesday in Allen Superior Court, 44-year-old Cary A. Hart faces two counts of child molesting and one count of child solicitation for events the girl told police occurred between 2011 and 2013.

The girl, who was 12 years old at the time, told police Hart touched her sexually four times, over her clothing and by direct contact.

After the last incident, the girl received repeated email and social media messages from three people who wanted nude photos of her, according to the affidavit. The girl’s mother told investigators she suspected Hart was the sender of the requests from fake email and social media accounts.

The girl’s mother told police she confronted Hart about the messages and that he said he was only trying to protect the girl, according to the affidavit.

Police said they made several attempts to contact Hart about the allegations but were not able to find him.
