High school roundup: Northrop topples New Haven

Colin Brockhouse belted a home run to help lead Northrop to a 9-5 home win over New Haven on Tuesday.

Brockhouse moved from third base to first base after undergoing Tommy John surgery last summer.

The Bruins scored four runs in the second after the teams each scored once in the first. New Haven scored twice in the third and sixth, and Northrop scored twice in the fourth and sixth.

Nick Snow had two doubles for Northrop, and Mike Snyder had a double. Joey Filosa picked up the win.

New Haven’s Vance Shearer and Trent Bill each had a double.

Softball

LAKEWOOD PARK 4, CENTRAL NOBLE 0: At Central Noble, Mikeila Boroff threw a no-hitter, striking out 14, to lead the Panthers.

WAWASEE 22, WEST NOBLE 9: At West Noble, Meghan Fretz drove in four runs with three hits to lead the Warriors.

Tennis

WEST NOBLE 4, WHITKO 1: At Whitko, Anna Buttgen and Tiffany Byers won singles matches, and the Chargers won both doubles matches.
