Services set for Dwenger student killed in crash

Haley Nellum

Services and calling have be set for Haley Nellum, 17, who was killed early Saturday by a crash at Hobson and Stellhorn roads.

She was a sophomore at Bishop Dwenger High School.

A Mass of Christian Burial has been set for 10:30 am Monday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior, according to her obituary with D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home.

It said there will also be calling from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with a Vigil starting at 8:30 p.m.

Even though Dwenger is on spring break, officials will open the school until 3 p.m. today and Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. for students to come together to talk or seek counseling as they deal with Nellum’s death.

Students are asked to bring photographs of her to create a memory book for the family.

There will be staffers from Erin’s House for Grieving Children on hand Monday and April 8, according to a statement from the high school.

If students need help and are unable to use the services provided at the school Tuesday or Saturday, they or their families may call Erin’s House at 423-2466.
