2 water mains break

Two water main breaks on Fort Wayne’s southwest side restricted traffic and kept city workers busy Sunday.

The breaks, one in the 6300 block of Illinois Road and the other in the 1600 block of Getz Road, were fixed by late afternoon.

A break near Menards on Magnavox Way had left that area without water. A second break, near Hadley Road, including the Stratford Forest subdivision, had caused low water pressure, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.

The city reported shortly before 5 p.m. that both mains had been fixed and all traffic lanes were open.
