Pedestrian struck twice, killed on Saturday is identified

A man struck and killed by two vehicles while walking across Coliseum Boulevard about 10:45 p.m. on Saturday has been identified, according to a statement from the Allen County Coroner’s office.

Jamie Allen Frederick, 58, of Fort Wayne died of blunt force trauma after he walked into the path of a southbound vehicle on Coliseum Boulevard at Lake Avenue on Saturday night and was struck. When Frederick attempted to stand up, he was hit by a second car, police said.

Frederick is the 5th traffic fatality for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2014, the statement said. The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne police department, the F.A.C.T. Team, the Allen County Coroner’s office, and the Allen County Prosecutor's office.
