2 water main breaks on southwest side repaired

Water main breaks on Illinois and Getz roads are fixed and all traffic lanes are open, the city reported late Sunday afternoon.

Two water main breaks Sunday morning left residents and businesses on the city's southwest side in the Getz Road and Illinois Road areas with low water pressure or no water at all, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department. A water main break near Menards on Magnavox Way had left that area without water. A second break, near Hadley Road, including the Stratford Forest subdivision, had caused low water pressure, police said.
