Fort Wayne employee held in Kendallville theft

A Fort Wayne man has been arrested in connection with the theft of about $133,000 in property from a Kendallville business where he worked, Kendallville police said today.

Joseph Barone, 57, of the 600 block of Fallen Timbers Trail, was being held at the Noble County Sheriff's Department without bond pending determination of final charges, Kendallville police said in a statement.

Police said they were called Wednesday to investigate a report of theft by an employee of Creative Liquid Coatings, 2620 Marion Drive.

After investigating and obtaining a search warrant, Barone's home in Fort Wayne was searched, and property such as supplies, tools and equipment belonging to Creative Liquid Coatings was recovered, the statement said.

Kendallville police said they were assisted by Fort Wayne police.
