5 projects added to city work list

– Fort Wayne Board of Public Works members Wednesday approved five more projects for this summer’s construction-fest.

As part of the massive investment in the city’s streets and neighborhoods promised in return for an increase in the local income tax, the city is doing millions of dollars worth of construction projects in the next five years.

Last week, the board approved 11 projects; members approved at least nine more the week before that.

The five projects approved Wednesday include concrete street reconstruction for Brookshire Circle in Arlington Estates; sidewalk repairs on Clermont Drive near St. John the Baptist Church and School; sidewalk repairs on Hanna Street between Decatur and Paulding roads; and concrete street repairs on Vance Avenue between Sherborne and Coliseum boulevards.

The projects are expected to go to bid in the next few weeks and be completed this summer.
