Highway Department offers engineering scholarships

– Civil engineering students can apply for scholarships from the Indiana Department of Transportation this month.

The highway department is offering competitive scholarships of $3,125 per semester for up to five years, including up to two years of graduate school. Applicants must be full-time students accepted or currently enrolled in a qualifying civil engineering program.

Applications postmarked by March 30 will be accepted for the 2014-2015 school year.

Recipients must agree to work for the state in full-time, paid positions during their summer breaks and, following graduation, to work six months for the state for each academic semester they receive a scholarship.
