WBOI-FM officials said Friday afternoon they hope to return to full power at midnight after repairs to the transmitter have been completed.
Late Wednesday afternoon, a number of power outages across Allen County damaged a transmitter 89.1 FM uses for the public radio station.
Chief engineer Ed Didier said a transformer on the power line that supplies electricity blew out.
Didier said Friday afternoon the repairs would soon be completed and he planned to flip the switch at midnight to return the station to the main transmitter.
Broadcasts continued while the station was on a different transmitter, but the station apologized to people who might have experienced “signal issues.”
Officials said listeners could go online at WBOI.org or WBNI.org or select the NIPR app through the App Store on iTunes or Google Play.
