Komets add 2 goalies

Goaltenders Matt Grogan and Kevin Murdock have agreed to terms with the Komets and are expected to be in the lineup tonight against Gwinnett, the club announced today.

Grogan, 25, recently completed a four-year college career at Connecticut, the Komets said in a statement. This year, he appeared in 26 games and had a 2.47 goals-against average and .923 save percentage. Last year, he was the NCAA's Goaltender of the Year.

Murdock, 23, finished his third year with Lake Superior State this season, the Komets said. His career goals-against average was 2.94.

Emergency backup goaltender Larkin Saalfrank has been released.

In other player moves today, forwards Kaleigh Schrock and Chris Auger have been activated, and forward Kenton Miller and defenseman Jace Coyle have been placed on reserve.
