  • Consecutive 90-less Augusts a first, weather service says
    Fort Wayne went without a 90-degree day in August for the second consecutive year, the first time that has happened since recordkeeping began in 1912, the National Weather Service said today.
  • Thunderstorms expected today, tonight
    Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop late this afternoon and evening, primarily west of Interstate 69, the National Weather Service said today.

Flood warnings issued, snow possible

The National Weather Service says minor flooding and a new round or two of snow are possible in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.

Flood warnings are in place for the following rivers:

  • The north branch of the Elkhart River in Noble County;
  • The St. Joseph River in Allen and DeKalb counties; and
  • The Tiffin River in Defiance and Williams counties.
The weather service said there is a 30 percent chance of rain or snow Thursday night and a slight chance of the same before 11 a.m. Friday.

The area is forecast to have snow on Tuesday, although higher temperatures forecast for the day might produce rain instead.
