The Fort Wayne Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect from the Meijer store on Lima Road and an attempted theft at the Illinois Road store.

It released two photos of the suspect.

The police said he was seen leaving the Illinois Road store Tuesday in a gray or silver Saturn Ion with a spare tire, commonly referred to as a "doughnut spare" on one of the rear tires spots. The police said the man attempted to take three car batteries and two shirts.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.
