U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan on Wednesday awarded $21.8 million to public housing authorities in Indiana, including several in northeast Indiana.
The grants are provided through HUD’s Capital Fund Program, which provides funding to build, repair, renovate or modernize public housing.
The following communities in the region were awarded grants:
- Fort Wayne Housing Authority, $906,829;
- Fremont Housing Authority, $37,484;
- Angola Housing Authority, $193,264; and
- Kendallville Housing Authority, $100,860.
