MLK bridge to light up with Saint Francis win

Statement as supplied Wednesday by the city of Fort Wayne:

Fort Wayne, Ind. – To recognize the accomplishments of the National Champion, University of Saint Francis Cougars women’s basketball team, Mayor Tom Henry has asked City staff to light the MLK Bridge with the Saint Francis school colors of royal blue and white. The bridge will be blue and white tonight, just after dusk and through tomorrow morning.

“The team brings great pride to Saint Francis and the City of Fort Wayne with their tremendous accomplishments this season,” said Mayor Henry. “I congratulate these outstanding young women, their coaches, their families and the entire Saint Francis community.”

The team finished the season 38-0, ranked number 1 and as NAIA Division II Champions.
