Former Homestead football star Isaac Griffith, who redshirted his freshman season at Indiana, is in a Sarasota, Fla., hospital following a water accident.
According to his father, Shannon, who is the head football coach at Manchester University, Isaac is in stable but critical condition and in a medically induced coma after an accident involving a rip current.
"My wife and I are boarding a plane to Sarasota to be by his side. Our faith in God is our strength," Shannon wrote on twitter Monday night.
"We ask for your thoughts and prayers. #PrayForIsaac"
The following message was posted on the Homestead football twitter account: "Please pray for former Spartan & current Hoosier, Isaac Griffith & his family. Isaac was in a swimming accident & is critical. Thank you."
Hoosiers quarterback Nate Sudfeld tweeted: "I'd appreciate it if everybody could take a second and pray for my teammate @isaac_griff right now."
Griffith,19, finished his Homestead career with school records in receptions (119), yardage (2,453) and touchdowns (37).
He was a two-time Scout Team Player of the Week with the Hoosiers last year.
