Woman critical after being found unconscious

An unidentified woman was found laying unconscious in the 3500 block of Harris Road early Sunday morning.

Police and paramedics responded to a report of a man down at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, where they discovered an unconscious woman laying near a parking lot by the intersection of Harris and Goshen roads, according to a police statement.

Paramedics treated her and took her to a local hospital in critical condition.

Police did not identify her, pending family notification, but said they have very few details regarding the incident and are attempting to locate witnesses who may have information. Anyone who may have information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department at 260-427-1222.

A statement issued by police early Sunday did not state the nature of the woman’s injuries, and officials Sunday evening said they had no new information on the case.

The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, and the Allen County Prosecutors Office, the statement said.
