Brandon Marino scored twice, and Aaron Clarke had a goal and an assist against his former team, as the Komets won 4-2 at Toledo on Sunday.

Mike Embach netted the game-winning goal for the Komets at 18:47 of the of the third period, and Clarke added an empty-netter to cement the victory for Fort Wayne (28-21-11), which remained three points back of Wheeling for seventh place in the Eastern Conference.

The conference-worst Walleye (18-37-4) tallied five of the first six shots, but the Komets quelled the early momentum with the game's first goal – Marino found the back of the net 7:28 into the first period.

Only 1:17 later, Toledo's Ryley Grantham tied it.

Marino struck again for a 2-1 lead, during a power play 1:21 into the second period, and it was set up by Clarke.

Clark had been with Toledo until Thursday's trade deadline, when he went to the Komets in a three-way trade with Orlando.

Toledo's Jesse Messier tied it at 9:06 of the third period, in front of 4,783 fans at the Huntington Center.

Goaltender Andrey Makarov stopped 33 of 35 shots for Fort Wayne. Hannu Toivonen stopped 48 of 51 for Toledo.

Christian Ouellet, who had been out with a leg injury, was back for the Komets and replaced Matt Maione. But the Komets were still without Dean Ouellet (head), Chris Auger (head), Matt Carter (groin) and Jason Dale (groin).
