14 pounds of pot found; driver sought

Tommy J. McDuffie III

A car going 16 mph over the speed limit last week had 14 pounds of pot in the trunk, and the Allen County Sheriff’s Department is now looking for the driver.

Tommy J. McDuffie III, 30, of Lima, Ohio, is wanted on a felony charge of dealing marijuana, police said.

McDuffie was stopped a week ago at Paulding Road and Wayne Trace in a silver Dodge Charger clocked going 46 mph in a 30 mph zone, police said.

The officer reported he could smell marijuana, and a dog alerted to the scent. A cache was found in the trunk, police said.

McDuffie was arrested and later released on his own recognizance. Anyone with information about his location is asked to call police 449-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.
