Two children escape burning home

Two children escaped a burning home before Fort Wayne firefighters arrived, firefighters said. The children, who were home alone at the time, were not injured, firefighters said. The ages of the children were not disclosed.

Firefighters responded to a call 11:45 p.m. Thursday to 3228 Webster St. The fire was in an upstairs bedroom and damaged much of the second floor.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fort Wayne police officers and TRAA medics assisted at the scene. The fire remains under investigation.
