Scent leads to 14 pounds of pot

McDuffie

A car going 16 mph over the speed limit had 14 pounds of pot in the trunk, and the Allen County Sheriff's Department is now looking for the driver.

Tommy J. McDuffie III, 30, of Lima, Ohio, is wanted on a felony charge of dealing marijuana, according to a statement issued Thursday by the department.

It said McDuffie was stopped a week ago at Paulding Road and Wayne Trace in a silver Dodge Charger clocked going 46 mph in a 30 mph zone.

The county officer reported he could smell marijuana so he brought out the dog, which alerted to the scent.

The police said the cache was found in the trunk and McDuffie was arrested.

Anyone with information regarding his current location is asked to call 260-449-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867.
