Another 4-3 loss for Komets

As they had the night before, the Komets lost 4-3 at Kalamazoo, Mich., on Sunday.

The Komets came back from a two-goal deficit to tie it in the third period before losing for the fourth time in their last five games.

Playing without injured captain Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock and forward Matt Carter, the Komets gave up first-period goals to Sam Ftorek and Ludwig Blomstrand.

After Chris Auger got the Komets on the scoreboard 50 seconds into the second period, former Fort Wayne player Matt Firman answered at 11:46.

Jordon Southorn had a power-play goal for the Komets 1:11 into the third period and Brandon Marino tied it at 3 just 21 seconds later.

But with Shawn Szydlowski in the penalty box for roughing, the Wings' Jeremie Blain netted the game-winning power-play goal at 3:31 in front of 2,753 fans at Wings Stadium.

Goaltender Andrey Makarov stopped 20 shots for the Komets (26-20-11). Joel Martin had 25 saves for the Wings (35-18-5), who have won 9 of 12 games against Fort Wayne this season.
