Suspect in shooting arrested

A man accused of shooting at another man this week was arrested Friday in Indianapolis.

The Fort Wayne Police Department’s Gang and Violent Crimes Unit worked in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Service in finding and capturing Marcus O’Neil Timmons, 23.

Timmons is charged with battery with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness, obstruction of justice and contempt of court.

Investigators say Timmons is one of three men who initiated a pattern of violence against Jaquan Wade, who was to testify against Brandon Carter this week before Carter’s trial was postponed.

Timmons is accused of firing a rifle at an apartment where Wade was living early Monday. Both Timmons and Carter are accused of shooting Wade in August.

Timmons was found at a home in Indianapolis before he planned to move to Arizona, according to police.

He’s being held in Marion County Jail.
