Warrant search for woman turns up meth

A tip to the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department led to a woman with a meth-related arrest warrant and a yet another meth lab.

Deputies got a tip on Thursday that Melissa Norris, wanted on felony charges out of LaGrange County, was staying at a place in the 7700 stretch of E 750 North. When they got there, Gregory Williams said she was not there, according to a statement issued by the department.

It said officers got consent to search for Norris and found her in a back bedroom with a one-pot meth lab and paraphernalia in plain view.

Williams and Norris were booked on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance, the sheriff’s department said.

Norris had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear, possession of methamphetamine, possession of chemical reagents, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia.
