Lambert to front Queen

Cranston

Queen will embark on a summer tour with Adam Lambert as its frontman.

The iconic band announced Thursday on “Good Morning America” that the 19-date U.S. tour kicks off June 19 in Chicago. It wraps July 20 in Washington, D.C.

Lambert first performed with Queen in 2009 when he was a contestant on “American Idol,” where he placed second.

Queen frontman Freddie Mercury died in 1991.

Tickets for the tour go on sale today.

‘60 Minutes’ gig

Veteran CBS News correspondent Bill Whitaker is joining the cast of the network’s “60 Minutes.”

CBS said Thursday that Whitaker, a Los Angeles-based newsman who has been with CBS since 1984, will move to New York and begin on the Sunday night show next fall.
