Duh tip of the day: Dog left in pickup goes for a spin

KOKOMO, Ind. – Kokomo police say a dog left along in a truck apparently bumped the vehicle’s gear shift, causing the truck to roll down a street, eventually striking a parked vehicle.

A police report said the dachshund’s owner told officers he parked his truck Monday evening with Fritz in the front seat and left the manual transmission in gear.

The Kokomo Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1ic8KPv) police believe the dog bumped the gear shift, located on the truck’s floor, into neutral. The truck then rolled down the street and into a vehicle parked along the opposite side of the street.

The canine wasn’t injured, but the truck was slightly damaged.
