Bath salts sale results in felony charges

A tip that a large amount of bath salts were being brought in to sell in Van Wert ended with multiple charges for a Syndey, Ohio, man.

Brandon S. Turner, 28, was arrested late Tuesday by officers after selling bath salts and being picked up with about 20 grams of the illegal substance and paraphernalia, according to a statement issued by the Van Wert City Police Department.

After the sale, officers stopped Turner in the 200 block of North Cherry Street.

He was charged with felony possession of bath salts over the bulk amount, felony trafficking in bath salts, possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia, the police said.

Turner is scheduled to appear in Van Wert Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Thursday.
