Extradition sought of teens held in Ohio

Extradition proceedings will begin this week against two southern Indiana teenagers arrested in Ohio in connection with the beating death of a man in his remote Lawrence County home, according to authorities.

Taylor Flynn, 19, and a 16-year-old boy, both of Bedford, were arrested Saturday evening on murder warrants in Ironton, Ohio, Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig said.

The two are suspected in the slaying of Rodney Allender, 43, Craig said. A relative found Allender’s body Thursday night in his northeastern Lawrence County home about 60 miles south of Indianapolis.

A third Bedford-area teen, Austin Curtis, 18, was being held without bond in the Lawrence County Jail on Sunday, a day after being arrested on preliminary charges of murder and robbery, Craig said.
