The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to the report of smoke coming from a house located at 4223 Beaver Avenue.

The first unit arrived on the scene and found fire coming from the basement and first floor of a 2 story home. As the crew entered the home with a handline to attack the fire, they discovered a large hole in the floor so they had to back out and relocate.

Other crews used ladders to search the second floor bedrooms for victims but no one was found.

The fire took 55 minutes to bring under control and no injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation.
