Canterbury girls advance to 2A title game

WARSAW – Canterbury beat Tipton 79-65 in the Class 2A semistate at Warsaw on Saturday.

The No. 3 Cavaliers (20-4) will face top-ranked Heritage Christian (26-1) at 12:45 p.m. next Saturday in the 2A state finals in Terre Haute.

Canterbury rallied from a 55-45 third-quarter deficit with a 20-2 run that extended into the fourth.

Kindell Fincher had 20 points, Darby Maggard 19 and Katherine Smith 18.

No. 5 Tipton finished the season 18-5.
