Power pole crash kills Ohioan, 50

A 50-year-old Ohio woman was killed before dawn Thursday when her car struck a utility pole in Defiance County, police said.

Kathy M. Browns of Powers Road near Defiance was driving a 2002 Honda Accord north on Krouse Road about 6:20 a.m. when she lost control south of Defiance County Road 424 and struck the pole, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner.
