No foul play suspected in death of 3-month-old

Authorities are investigating the death of a 3-month old infant after paramedics were called to a home on Fort Wayne’s west side Wednesday afternoon.

According to a statement from the Fort Wayne Police Department, an ambulance was called to the home in the 2800 block of Windrush Drive, near Hillegas and Butler roads, after a report of an unresponsive infant.

Paramedics took the baby to a hospital where the child was pronounced dead by a physician.

Although the baby’s death is under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office, the coroner's office said Thursday that no foul play is suspected.

It said the cause of death is pending and that that the name of the baby will not be released.
