TAYLORSVILLE, Ind. – Authorities say a young brother and sister were injured when they were hit by a school bus in a central Indiana town.
Bartholomew County sheriff’s Chief Deputy Todd Noblitt said a 9-year-old girl had serious injuries and was flown to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. Noblitt told The Republic (http://bit.ly/1pxYMbU) that a 6-year-old boy was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital.
The children were struck about 7:30 a.m. Thursday in a neighborhood of Taylorsville, about 30 miles south of Indianapolis. Noblitt said the children might have run in front of the bus.
Larry Perkinson of the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. said the injured siblings and the 35 children who were on the bus are Taylorsville Elementary School students.
