Gunshot death ruled accidental

Thomas E. Minton, 48, died Sunday of an accidental gunshot wound to his chest, according to the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

Minton was reportedly selling a handgun to a family member when the gun, which he believed was unloaded, fired into his chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
