Pedestrian on Lima Road struck, dies

A woman was struck and killed Saturday morning while walking in one of the traffic lanes on Lima Road between Progress and Production roads.

Police said the woman was walking southbound in the direction of traffic about 6:15 a.m. Saturday and was wearing dark clothing. It was dark outside and the driver of the car did not see her, police said.

Police who responded said they found the woman lying in the middle of the road. Paramedics and fire personnel who responded pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

The driver of the car that hit her was at the scene when police arrived and was being interviewed by police. That stretch of Lima Road does not have sidewalks.
