Shooting suspect faces new charge

Trameil Lorenzo Jackson

A man police and prosecutors have identified as a gang member has a new charge hanging over his head.

Trameil Lorenzo Jackson, 24, is already facing an attempted murder charge in the Feb. 11 shooting of DeAndrew Moore and Devonte Jones near Decatur Road and Dawnan Drive. The two men were taken to a hospital in fair condition.

Friday, Jackson was charged with felony carrying a handgun without a license. Police have said Jackson is part of the MOB street gang.

When he was arrested Feb. 13, he was armed with a .38-caliber Charter Arms revolver, police said.

Jackson has a previous conviction for carrying a handgun without a license.
