Released inmate charged in assault

A man released from the Allen County Jail last month is accused of robbing a fellow inmate and burglarizing his home.

Darius T. Fisher, 27, was charged Friday with robbery and burglary.

Last month, a man told police he met Fisher while in jail and they were released on the same day, Jan. 7.

They kept in contact after their release and Fisher arranged a meeting where his fellow inmate could show him a gun he had for sale, according to Allen Superior Court documents.

The meeting took place at the victim’s house. Fisher and an unidentified man were both present, court records said.

At one point, the unidentified man attacked the victim and held him at gunpoint. While he did so, Fisher went through the victim’s house and took things, records said.

Fisher, of the 1700 block of Scottsdale Drive, was held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
