High-wind advisory issued

FORT WAYNE – Strong winds are expected to develop Thursday night in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio, the National Weather Service in northern Indiana said today.

Sustained winds of 30 mph and gusts up to 45 mph are forecast through Friday afternoon in the following counties:

  • Indiana – Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Steuben, Noble, Wabash, Wells, Whitley, LaPorte, St. Joseph, Elkhart, Starke, Pulaski, Marshall, Fulton, White, Cass, Miami, Grant, Blackford and Jay.
  • Ohio – Williams, Fulton, Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Allen.
The advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Thursday until 5 p.m. Friday.

The weather service said the winds could make driving difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles.
