2-semi accident in Whitley causes backup

A two-semi crash at U.S. 30 and Whitley County Road 300 East, east of Columbia City, has congested traffic there, the Whitley County sheriff's department said tonight.

It said drivers should avoid the area, and recommended a detour from Fort Wayne using U.S. 33, Indiana 205 and U.S. 30.

The accident will cause backups and detours for an unknown amount of time, the sheriff's department said.
